search for chic

I had one of those awful days where you sort of wish you had never stumbled onto.  Okay…it’s not as melodramatic as it sounds however it was still a dreadful day indeed. Our builder installed the wrong cupboards in our kitchen which will mean one of two things: a) get him to replace it which will further prolong the date of settlement (which is already a month over schedule!) or b) live with it…and buy lots and lots and lots of shoes to compensate the bitter sadness. The latter does sound very enticing however my heart is pretty much set on wanting him to rip out the existing mistake and to simply replace it with the orginal design I had chosen.

Yeah…I wish it was that simple…

Will be having a friendly chat to our builder first thing tomorrow morning. May need to remind myself not to bring out the claws over the course of what I predict will be a loooonng conversation. ***editing to add, builders were happy to comply! Kitchen will be changed asap! I’m all smiles today. ***

++++

My mind took a mini break from all the house stuff  tonight, didn’t want to think about it. In contrary to the post made below, I started browsing through my favourite online boutiques again and not so surprisingly, purchased a cute Miu Miu leather double wrap skinny belt and a pair of Prada black patent heels as a  ‘pick me up‘  for myself . Both are classic items anyway- they’ll last me for yearrrs.

And on the topic of classics, I’m posting one of my many favourite editorials from Vogue Paris ‘05 starring one of my favourites- Sofia Coppola. She’s the epiphany of classic-chic. I love her innate sense of style, so simple, so delicate yet bold in an very unspoken of way.

(I’ve had these pics saved on my computer for years and have forgotten the original source)

Ahhh…my never ending search for chic…It’s hard to believe this editorial is 5 years old!! I’d like to hope that in 5 years time the items I have currently hanging in my wardrobe would be still wearable! It just goes to show, ‘fashion changes but style remains’- Gabrielle “Coco” Chanel.
